II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s) Output Services Group (OSG) is a vital operational unit within the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). OSG is responsible for the processing and despatch of the DVLA's outgoing mail, which is in excess of 110million items per year, from its two production sites in Swansea. The mail is despatched on a variety of mailing systems, which are listed below. Bowe 153 cross fold, Smart Tacho Mini Mailer, Bowe 151 Turbo Plus, Bowe One ADF Platform, Solo Guillotines & Mergers, Bowe Marathon Mailer, Bowe Plastic Card Systems, Bowe Quattro Mailer, GUK Folder, Bowe 151 Turbo, MB Folder, Bowe Premium Mailers. Suppliers are invited to propose a solution for the maintenance and support of all OSG equipment, to ensure that agreed performance and serviceability levels are met. The supplier shall arrange to have sufficient engineer cover permanently on site Sunday 22.00hrs -Friday 22.00hrs (24hrs X 5); (except public and Bank Holidays) to meet the expected performance and serviceability requirement and to provide a breakdown repair service to the OSG equipment. Routine preventative maintenance will be undertaken on a structured day shift and at weekends. Maintenance and repairs need to include all parts of the machine, and shall include such adjustments and cleaning of equipment as specified by DVLA. In addition, the supplier shall carry out such operator duties specified in the manufacturer's handbook, as required by the DVLA. All work must be carried out in a competent and professional manner with a high quality of workmanship and conform to health and safety standards, including the annual testing of machines in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, which came into force on 1 April 1990. The supplier must ensure that the engineers engaged to carry out these duties are qualified and trained in the use and service of all the listed equipment. The supplier will be required to replace damaged and worn parts as necessary with no additional cost. Repair and maintenance services.
